For a long time unwanted body hair removal was a process for women only but in recent years men have been getting in on the act more and more. As soon as male models and celebrities started showing off their six packs without a furry covering then everyone wanted to go bare. (At least those with an eye on fashion and staying current did). Now it is quite normal for men to remove hair from their backs, chest and stomach and quite often their legs too.
Women have quite a few methods of hair removal at their disposal and all the same methods are good for men too – for example waxing, depilatory creams, shaving and electrolysis – but the most popular method of male body hair removal is the laser hair removal method.
Why is laser hair removal for men so much in favor?
1. Permanent Reduction
Laser hair removal is one of the few methods which removes hair permanently. In the case of laser treatment it can promise a permanent reduction only but permanent it is.
2. Fast Results
Hair is shed after the very first treatment. Although much of the hair regrows (as hair must be in an active growth state to be permanently destroyed) you will see a reduction right away. After about 3 to 6 sessions spanning a number of months you are likely to achieve permanent reduction in hair growth.
3. It Says You’re Successful
If you can pay for laser treatment while others can’t afford it then it’s a feather in your cap, almost like wearing the latest designer clothes and a “just flown in from your yacht” tan. It’s just another means of conspicuous consumption.
4. The Star Wars Method
Guys seem to like the idea of zapping their hair with a laser beam. It brings out the boy in them imagining a light saber getting to work on their hair. Of course, laser hair removal is not as dramatic as they might imagine. You will just see a wand moving over your skin and feel a sensation like being twanged by tiny rubber bands but it does have a ring of the Jedi about it.
