LPN nurse jobs usually involve working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, or RN or, in some health care settings under the supervision of a physician. However this does not mean that the LPN job is lacking in responsibility or does not require any skill. Just the contrary in fact. The role of the Licensed Practical Nurse, or LPN is becoming more and more important in todays society.
The sort of activities that you will see an LPN undertake include the recording of vitals, the taking of measurements such as a patients height or weight, or possibly measuring their temperature, or their blood pressure, or their pulse. Another important aspect of the LPN is that they would routinely help those patients who require it, in matters of personal hygiene. In fact they participate in much of the day to day activities that provide patients with a high quality of care.
