This may sound completely off the wall but knowing it might save you car from being repossessed. As most people know if you do not pay your parking tickets after a certain period of time or a certain number of tickets the city will usually put a “boot” on your car. A “boot” is simply a large lock that’s installed on a wheel of a vehicle inhibiting it from being able to be driven. If your car has been “booted” it means that the city basically took possession of it so by lay a repossession firm cannot repossess the car if it’s “booted”. These “boots” can be obtained from several different places but I’ve seen them as low as $50 on ebay. A boot may be a good investment if it can stop repossession.
