I’ve always loved my silver amber ring – I have since I received it nearly a decade ago. I suppose that I had always taken for granted the setting of this beautiful material. I never realized how much the silver enhanced the natural elegance of the amber until just recently when I happened to see some set in gold. Let me be the first to tell you that gold amber rings are not a good idea. The color of the gold doesn’t go well with that of the amber at all. It looked pretty hideous, actually. Silver, on the other hand, has such a temperate grace to it that it almost seems to calm the raging fires within the amber. White gold may be alright – I’ll have to check into that myself – but silver amber rings are certainly better than gold ones every time.
