Navigational GPS are some of the most well know portable GPS devices our there. They are extremly powerful and useful, making them an instant favorite with their users. Among the different brands of navigational GPS there are three that stand out among the crowd. The first is Garmin. They have been providing some of the best portable GPS navigation devices on the market for years. Their Nuvi series provides a solid experience for their users since it has a good interface, a powerful routing engine, and high quality maps.
Probably the next best manufacturer is TomTom. This GPS giant is based out of Europe and has one of the cleanest and powerful interfaces on the market. Their maps are not as good as Garmin’s, but TomTom does have a very useful way for users to update maps and share these updates with others. They also have some of the cheapest GPS around, providing a lot of value to their customers.
The last on the list is Magellan. This company uses the same maps as Garmin so they have a superior mapping system when compared with TomTom. But Magellan GPS lack some of the flare and power that Garmin and TomTom employ. While they certainly do produce solid navigational GPS, they are last on this list of major portable GPS makers.
