You may have a perfectly nice living room or bedroom with a well coordinated color scheme but you feel that there is something missing. The room looks a little flat and dull. It is missing some kind of spark. Pink rugs can change all that. Here’s how.
1. A Focal Point
A pink rug can become a focal point in your room. Imagine you have a room decorated very stylishly in white, black and gray. You know the look : black leather sofas, black and white photographs framed in black on white walls, pale floors tiled with natural stone. Everything goes together well but it lacks drama. Now imagine selecting one of those hot pink rugs you can find around these days and popping it in the middle of your black and white room. Will it catch the eye? Too right, it will! Of course, you will also need to balance the pink with one or two other pink items but your room can change from dull to exiting almost overnight.
2. A Soft Touch
Now you don’t have to add drama and impact with pink rugs, you can also add softness. Imagine, this time a room color scheme which is all white, perhaps a nursery or a bedroom. You have white walls and white furniture and pale curtains and flooring. A room like this is altogether too clean and clinical looking for comfort. If you choose a pale pink rug, however, one made of soft long pile, in particular, you will add instant softness to the room and make it look warmer and more welcoming. You rug does not have to be pure pink in this instance. You could have a mix of gentle pastels and achieve the same effect.
3. A Contrast
In a white bathroom, a pink bath rug in either a soft pink or a bright one will provide a perfect contrast to a white bathroom suite and neutral walls and floor. You can further enhance the effect with matching items such as bathroom accessories and towels. The contrast in colors (and the pink color itself) help the room feel like a home rather than a functional hotel bathroom.
