While vitamin A in of itself is not directly related to the causes of acne it can significantly alleviate health problems that lead to the formation of it and thus serve as a home remedy for acne. The major draw of vitamin A is its capacity to diminish stress in the organism. Stress is a key factor of aggravation for acne conditions. Vitamin A reinforces the immune system and helps to keep the skin moist. Even for those with oily skin it will be preferable to prevent the skin from drying up as when this occurs the sebaceous glands begin to generate more sebum (oil) in order to compensate for the dryness. This can start a vicious circle of imbalance.
It is not at all necessary nor even desirable to get vitamin A from caplets. It is readily available in high concentration in a number of foods such as spinach, sweet potatoes, carrots, mangoes, cantaloupe as well as cold pressed first extraction oils (olive). These foods are not direct home remedies for acne but they can contribute to a healthy balance in the body and thus help fight off acne.
