Hair Plugs For Women Now A Reality

For years it was only men who could get hair plugs, also known as hair implants, because of the fact that women usually didn’t have a very good donor area to get the hair plugs from.  With men, the posterior section of the head usually has good hair growth even if there is hair loss at the front of the scalp and on the crown.  This means the back of the head can be used as the area in which to remove hair units to be inserted into the balding area.  With women, though, there is also usually hair thinning along with hair loss in spots.  This meant no good area to transplant hair units from.

With the advent of new microtechnologies it is now possible to treat pattern baldness even when people have thinning hair.  The new hair plugs for women work because the surgeon can now use a special device to remove the hair shaft and root individually instead of as a group.
