I don’t know if you’ve ever had a termite infestation before but let me tell you, they can be a real pain in the neck. I had an old corner bookcase that I bought in Jamaica on one of my vacations. I had it shipped home to me and I set it up in my house. I had put all of my books on it and the next day all of the shelves fell apart! Little insects started crawling all over the place and my wife flipped out. We had to throw the whole thing away and have a bug guy come and spray the house.
Here’s my advice: If you buy any furniture from a foreign country, or even if you buy some here, have it checked for bugs before you install it in your home. You never know what can be lurking in the dark crevices of that old wood.
