Bathroom sink cabinets are a quick and affordable way to breathe new life into your tired old bathroom. The bathroom may not be the place where most people spend most of their day, but it is the place which most visitors to the home will see the most, right after the living room/dining room. If your cabinets are falling off of their own hinges, then maybe it’s time for a bathroom sink cabinet face lift.

To start, you’ll have to decide whether or not you want to replace the bathroom sink cabinets completely or just touch them up. This will depend a lot on your budget. For those who don’t have a lot of money to spend on this project, a small can of paint and a brush will do wonders. White is a good neutral color, but it can dirty easier than darker colors. If your bathroom has a certain theme to it, or if most of your bathroom decor tends to lean towards one side of the color spectrum, either dark or light, try to go for a paint color that will match that. Cool beige on your bathroom sink cabinets can go well with reds, pinks, greens, yellows, etc. A darker color on your bathroom sink cabinets goes well more with blacks, browns, and other earthy tones. If you do decide to paint your bathroom sink cabinets yourself, remember to tape up as much as you can (to prevent paint being dripped onto other surfaces) and don’t be shy about using a small brush around tight corners like around the hinges. Nothing looks more amateur in style than cabinet hinges being brushed right over and painted.

For those with a little more money to spend on their bathroom, a complete redo of your bathroom sink cabinets will be the way to go. Whatever you go for, remember to choose color and practicality above all. The color has to match with your current motif (unless you plan on changing your entire bathroom’s look) and it should be functional. There is nothing more annoying than trying to open a bathroom sink cabinet and finding out that you’re pulling on a false door. Your cabinets should serve a purpose. They mainly exist to save space and store personal items, so that’s what they should be doing.

No matter which route you decide to take in your bathroom, the most important piece of advice, for any household project, is don’t bite off more than you can chew. If you really have no idea what you should be doing, then hire a professional. It will be cheaper for a professional to get the job right the first time over having to fix what you messed up.
