I purchased the Garmin Nuvi 650 GPS receiver as a navigational system in the city, but soon found out that I could also use it for running, biking, hiking, camping, and best of all I could use it as the main piece of equipment in my brand new hobby, geocaching. I’m just thrilled that I didn’t have to shop for or buy anymore equipment for tracking down caches.

I’m not the best at trying to figure out how to use electronic devices, but the Nuvi 650 didn’t challenge me at all, and that is saying something.

As an example, when I first got my computer, I was afraid to touch it for fear I would do something wrong and break it, and it was a very long time before I learned how to set up my email and use it.

So, you can see why I’m so attached to my Garmin 650, I was able to start using it just as it came out of the box for finding destinations around town, and for my geocaching hunts.

All I had to offer was that I liked the lightweight and the ergonomically designed frame. My meager response seems to have left her kind of unsatisfied and she steamrolled away. Her questions had gotten my curious though and I set out on a hunt determined to find the cordless leaf blower in question. It took my several marts to finally find one. Hidden in a very far corner stood a box containing the tool. I unpacked it shamelessly in the middle of the store and started examinating.

Geocachers are no different than the population as a whole, we’re individuals with unique ideas about what will work for us.

Personally, I think bees are fascinating critters, but before you jump headlong into beekeeping you should figure out whether or not it is right for you.  Here are some tips.

Do start beekeeping if you can invest $200 to $400 on bees hives for sale and other beekeeping equipment to get started. You enjoy spending time outside. You can handle an occasional sting. You enjoy learning about nature.

Beekeeping is a hobby that requires a minimal investment of time – you only need a few hours per month on a hobby level.  Once you have your initial investment made, it is very lowcost, and if you sell the honey and beeswax that the bees produce, you can actually make money.  So if you enjoy nature, and want a good excuse to get outside, beekeeping is a good hobby for you.
