Airsoft guns can be made from a wide variety of materials, including synthetic plastics, various metals, or a combination of the two. Depending on your personal values, you may prefer one kind of airsoft gun over another based on what it is constructed from. For example, plastic airsoft guns are usually a lot cheaper, because plastic is not as expensive as metal. When it comes down to it, full metal airsoft products are the best that you can get, and in the following paragraphs, I will describe exactly why metal is so superior to the plastic alternatives available on the market.
As you can probably assume, airsoft rifles made from metal are naturally much more durable. It is virtually impossible to break metal, unless you have a tool that can cut through it, which is great for the hardcore airsoft tournaments, where you’ll be subjecting your airsoft gun to harsher conditions. With a plastic airsoft gun, all it takes is a drop onto a hard surface, and it is liable to break. It is impossible for a full metal product to fall apart upon being dropped, although they can become dysfunctional if the smaller internal components become dislodged. Since nothing truly breaks, though, it can be easily repaired, sometimes in only a few minutes.
Because of the strength of the gearboxes, metal airsoft guns are also stronger than their plastic counterparts. This is not the case in those powered by gas though, because whether the gun is metal or otherwise, it is the same amount of gas coming into the chamber. Since more people use electric products than gas ones, though, it is notable that full metal products are stronger. With all of these benefits, it is clear that if you have the money, there is no reason to get anything other than the total metal option.
